Revision D 3-1 Start-Up
6HFWLRQ6WDUW8S
This section describes how to prepare the system for run-
ning the applications discussed in the following sections.
 6WDUWXS2YHUYLHZ
This section assumes you’ve already installed the
iNFiNiT! Family system in your facility. At a minimum,
an installed system consists of the following:
Power cords attached to the main chassis and key-
board, keyboard cable connected properly
One color monitor (per channel), called the Color
Edit Monitor, or Edit Monitor; and one Prompts
Monitor (All MAXINE! and single-channel MAX!>
systems require one color monitor and one Prompts
Monitor. Two Prompts Monitors should be used
with iNFiNiT! systems configured for Dual Users.)
 $ERXWWKH6RIWZDUH
Standard system software (the Operating System, Mes-
sage Compose, Font Create, and Disk Utilities) is on the
hard disk when the unit leaves CHYRON, so no software
installation is required to get the system started.
If installing a newer version of system software, refer to
§2.14.

[ ] 1. Turn all monitors and the keyboard ON. The
keyboard power switch is on the back panel.
[ ] 2. Turn main chassis
ON. Power-up diagnostics
begin, and are displayed on the Prompts
Monitor. If the main chassis does not turn
ON,
check the system fuses as shown in Figures 3-1
through 3-3.
