When MAXINE! Preview Output is enabled, the follow-
ing restrictions apply:
MAXINE! cannot display a scanline background
(
CNTL B). When a message with a scanline back-
ground read into PREVIEW, the text is displayed on
Preview, but the background information from the
message is ignored. When this message is trans-
ferred to the AIR channel, the recorded scanline
background does not appear.
Keep in mind, however, that if a message containing
a Scanline Background is
XFER’d to or read into
PREVIEW, and that message (with or without alter-
ation) is recorded, if it is read back into the AIR
channel, the background will be displayed. In other
words - even though the ability to display the back-
ground is not present when a message is in PRE-
VIEW and when it is
XFER’d to AIR, the
information is still present in the system, and is
recorded.
To display the background of any message in
Preview, simply compose the message in or read
the message into the AIR channel first. The
background is retained in Background RAM,
even though XFER transfers the Foreground
buffer contents to Preview.
Read Effects cannot be previewed in the Background
buffer (Preview), although execution to AIR operates
normally.
When
CNTL ALT READ is used to read a message
into the Background buffer of the EEFB, the message
will be visible on the Preview Output monitor, but
not on the AIR monitor, unless the Transparency of
the Background buffer is set to more than
0 in the
Read Effects menu.
Video is not keyable.
Cel Animations can not be executed in Preview.
