If not using soft fonts for the Roll, Filter can be activated
to alleviate the flicker. When selected, all subsequent
Rolls filter the Roll data as the Roll executes, greatly
reducing flicker. The same effect may be achieved by
selecting
Soft 1 in the Flash Font Texture menu
(§13.6.3).
LIMITATIONS
• Due to the CPU intensive nature
of Filter, the maximum Roll speed
is 4 or 5. If the speed is too fast
for the filter to handle, Roll Buffer
Underflow is displayed on the
Prompts Monitor.
• There is a delay of 3 to 6 seconds
when the Roll is executed.
• Roll Filter is not available in
Multiple Effects or Intelligent
Interface.
• Roll Filter execution may affect or
be affected by other applications
such as a Secondary user, the
IMAGESTOR! Recall Keyboard or
Network Utilities contact from
another system.
To activate Filter:
• Press
F. The Filter icon becomes highlighted.
To deactivate
Filter:
• Press
F again.

Roll Field Compensation Disable disables field com-
pensation, which can reduce flicker at certain speeds dur-
ing Special Roll execution.
