Installation 2-2 Revision D
MAXINE! systems may be installed either in a rack-mount or
table-top configuration.
The main chassis generates a considerable amount of heat. In
iNFiNiT! systems, cooling fans draw air in from the bottom rear
of the unit, pull it through two filters, then blow it out the top.
In MAX!> and MAXINE! systems, air is drawn into the left
side of the chassis, through a mesh filter, and the air is
exhausted through the right side of the chassis.
NOTE
Heat is the long-term enemy of
electronic hardware!
To avoid
overheating, be sure that neither the air
intake nor outflow areas of the chassis
are blocked in any way.
Be sure to check the main chassis air filters at least every month
to make sure they are clean. When necessary, vacuum the fil-
ters!
In iNFiNiT! systems, two air filters slide into trays
beneath the chassis, and are accessible from the bottom
rear of the chassis.
In MAX!> and MAXINE! systems, the air filter is
installed just inside the left chassis wall, and is accessible
by opening the front panel.
