iNFiNiT! Family Operation Manual
Revision D 20-13 Video Input Option
If using KEY, remember the following:
If a key signal is applied to the KEY input on the
VIM, it is captured along with RGB data, but does
not appear on the Edit Monitor or at the CHYRON
VIDEO output.
If KEY is to be captured along with R, G, and B, the
key level must be at least the same (or greater than)
the RGB levels and must be exactly in time with
RGB.
The KEY signal cannot be varied independently of
the RGB signals (i.e. to generate fades).
MAXINE! frame buffers assume RGB has been pre-
multiplied with alpha (key). If your video source
does not premultiply alpha, special PROM’S are
available from CHYRON to accept this type of video
signal. Contact CHYRON Customer Service for more
information.
RGB data is “clipped” (limited to 0-128) to the key
signal level on MAXINE!

NOTE
There is no Alpha Multiply menu icon.
Press M to activate this feature.
Alpha Multiply scans the current Frame Buffer after a
video image has been captured, and for each pixel, the
RGB values are reduced by the value of Alpha (Key).
To execute, press
M after the image has been frozen. A
system prompt indicates that the process is being executed.
