The following describes the general procedure on how to
create a standard scanline background:
•
Enter Background mode. Press CNTL B or
select the
Background icon.
•
Create your color. Select HSI or RGB sliders,
and adjust them until the current color box is
how you want the background to appear.
•
Define the starting scanline for the back-
ground.
Enter the number of scanlines you want
colored into the Address Keypad. To color the
entire screen, enter
486 for NTSC, 586 for PAL).
Coloring begins where the Background Cursor is
located. The default location is Line 1. Move it
by pressing
SHIFT CHAR + Î or Ï.
•
Generate the background. Press the SPACE
BAR
.
•
Record the background. Select a page number,
then press
RCD while in Background mode to
save the background to disk, leaving any text
unrecorded.
•
Exit Background mode. Press CNTL or Q to
leave Background mode and leave the back-
ground up.
•
Exit Background mode and Erase Back-
ground.
To exit and erase the background, Press
ESC instead of CNTL.
•
Erase Background while in Message Com-
pose main menu.
Press ALT ERASE.
•
Erase Background and Frame Buffer while in
Message Compose main menu.
Press ESC.
