Revision D 23-19 Total Motion Control
Assuming a 240 x 240 CMF (maximum size)
or JPEG Video with Key, Table 23-2 specifies
the approximate amount of memory needed to
store a video clip of a particular length.
Capturing Video without Key adds slightly
more available capture length. Additionally,
the table specifies the amount of time needed
to allocate the disk space necessary for a clip
of the specified size.

If working with JPEG video or key, this section does not
apply. Please proceed to §23.4.5.
When a CMF is too large in area, it could miss frames on
capture and playback. The maximum size of a reliable
CMF animation on an NTSC system is as follows:
•
For Liberty CMF animations: About 25,000 pixels
(
160 x 160)
•
For Chyron CMF animations: About 60,000 pixels
(
240 x 240)
The limits for PAL systems are about 15% larger due to
the slower frame/second rate.
