This section identifies directories, and describes all
aspects of recording and reading back text and effects
messages. If you have the mouse option, most Directory
functions can be controlled using the mouse.

To quickly change directories:

the following format: DRIVE/ DIRECTORY

Displays created on the iNFiNiT! Family system are
recorded to (and retrieved from) disk as messages. These
messages may be organized on the disk in a number of
ways: by message type, by user, by purpose. The system
provides a “directory” structure to assist you with this
organization. The directory structure also includes meth-
ods of organizing Master and Machine Fonts, system pro-
grams, and related files.
A drive can be thought of as a file cabinet containing
drawers (directories), folders (subdirectories), and indi-
vidual documents (messages or other files). A directory
path is specified using the following format:
DRIVE/DIRECTORY/SUBDIRECTORY
The File ID number or file name is entered separately in
the application menu. In most cases, it is not necessary to
designate which program is being used, or whether a sub-
