Subcarrier phase is set for Channel 2 by the sync/gen. If the
Channel 1 output requires a subcarrier of different phase, R2 on
the Encoder board can be adjusted.
Burst position is set by the sync/gen, but can be adjusted for
each channel.
Channel 1 burst position adjustment is S9.
Channel 2 burst position adjustment is S8.
75 Ohm termination can be removed from the Reference In. No
“loop through” is provided, so the user must provide a “T” con-
nector for proper operation.
Set JP22 across 1-2 to enable 75 Ohm termina-
tion.
Set JP22 across 2-3 to disable 75 Ohm termina-
tion.
The schematics for this design follow a hierarchical design.
Therefore signals that bear the same name on two different
pages of the schematic may not be the same signal. You must
first refer to page 1 of the schematic to know the source and
destination of signals that enter and leave later pages. For exam-
ple, page 7 and page 15 both have a KSYNC input. Page 1 iden-
tifies the signal going to page 7 as CH1_KCSYNC and the
signal going to page 15 as CH2_KCSYNC. The composite sync
signal used for key on Channel 1 is different than the composite
sync signal used for Channel 2.

A summary of the switches on the board follows. Please review
this section so that you will know the effect that each of these
switches will have on your system. The first 8 switches adjust
the sync, blanking and burst of the composite sync and the sync
timing of the key signal relative to each other for Channel 1 and
Channel 2. Note that there are only 8 settings, so positions 8-F
duplicate positions 0-7. Positions 7 and F turn the signal OFF
S4 Channel 2 Key sync timing S5 Channel 1 Key sync timing
S8 Channel 2 Burst timing S9 Channel 1 Burst timing
S11 Channel 2 Video sync timing S13 Channel 1 Setup timing
S12 Channel 2 Setup timing S14 Channel 1 Video sync timing
