Function Keys 12-18 Revision D
To activate Keystroke Capture:
[ ] 1. Press
CNTL, then a Function Key. The
Function Key list is displayed.
[ ] 2. To start a new list, leave the cursor in the Step
column at
Step 0. If you are editing a list,
place the cursor on the step at which you want
to add new steps. Any existing keystrokes from
this step on are overwritten
.
[ ] 3. Press
C or select Capture. The Prompts
Monitor returns to the Message Compose main
menu.
Function Key x Step: 0 appears on the
Prompt Line.
x is the Function Key number.
[ ] 4. Compose your sequence. Each keystroke is
executed and saved in the selected Function
Key. The Step number on the Prompt Line
increments after each keystroke.
[ ] 5. To edit the list, press
CNTL, then the Function
Key to enter and examine the list. After
editing, place the cursor in the Step column,
then press
Q or select Quit to exit the list.
[ ] 6. To execute the list, press the Function Key or
the GPI activator (§2.5) for that key.

To read back a Function Key from Message Compose:
From the Message Compose main menu, enter the ID
of the recorded Function Key, then press
READ.
The Function Key is loaded into its original Function
Key.
When a Function Key is read back while in the Message
Compose main menu, it overwrites any sequence cur-
rently loaded in that Function Key.
