Revision D 12-19 Function Keys
For example, if you create and record F2 as a single
Function Key message, then read it back from the Mes-
sage Compose main menu, it automatically overwrites
whatever sequence is already loaded in
F2 at the time of
the read.
To avoid an overwrite, recall the sequence while in a dif-
ferent Function Key list (for example,
F3). To read back
a Function Key from within a Function Key list:
[ ] 1. From the Message Compose main menu, press
CNTL, then a Function Key (for example, F3).
[ ] 2. Move the cursor into the
Step column, then
press
READ. A window similar to the Record
Message window (Figure 12-6) is displayed.
[ ] 3. Press
CLR. Enter the ID of the recorded
Function Key, then press
.
The single Function Key that was recorded in
F2 is now
loaded into
F3.
To read back all Function Keys:
• From the Message Compose main menu, press
CLR.
Enter the message ID number under which the Func-
tion Keys are stored, then press
READ.
Any Function Keys that are loaded with recorded
sequences overwrite sequences currently loaded in the
Function Keys. However, unoccupied Function Keys
that are read back do not do not overwrite current
sequences.
For example, if you recorded Function Keys
F1, F3, and
F5 under one ID, reading that message overwrites any
sequences loaded into
F1, F3, and F5. Sequences cur-
rently loaded into
F2, F4, and F6 - F10 are not changed.
