Revision D 16-5 Mix Effects
The length of time that it takes for an effect to execute is
set in the
Speed: field.
The duration can range from
2 to 300 fields. If a duration
lower than
2 is entered, the Speed: field resets to 2. If a
duration higher than
300, the Speed: field resets to 300.
The default setting is
60.
60 fields = 1 second NTSC or PAL-M
50 fields = 1 second PAL
To set the duration of the transition:
Place the cursor on the
Speed: field, press CLR,
enter the desired duration in fields using the keypad,
then press
.

Soft specifies the width (in pixels) of the edges that sepa-
rate the image in one buffer from the image in another
buffer.
Soft is available only to Wipe and Soft Mask.
Soft can be set from 1 (hard edge) to 60 (soft edge);
default is 20. To set
Soft:
Place the cursor on the
Soft: field, press CLR, enter a
value from
1 to 60 using the Address Keypad, then
press
.
This setting is reflected in the
Soft: field in the Mix Set-
tings window (§17.5.3) in the Multiple Effects main menu.

Reverse: Off and Reverse: On control the direction in
which an effect moves.
Reverse is available only to
Wipe. All Transition Patterns can be controlled by
Reverse. Figure 16-3 illustrates how Reverse works.
The shaded area represents the new image and the direc-
tion the effect is moving.
To set
Reverse:
