Now that the ZIP drive has been configured, a number of
SYS-
TEM
configuration and initialization files must be copied from
the hard drive to the ZIP disk before booting from the ZIP disk.
This ensures that the system behaves the same as when booting
from the hard drive.
If the ZIP disk is new, and has never been used,
C/SYSTEM/
ETC/PASS.DEF
must be copied from the hard drive to the
ZIP Disk. Additionally, if you have IMAGESTOR!, Network
Utilities, SCSI Express, or the IMAGESTOR! Recall Keyboard
options, the following files must be copied from the
C/SYS-
TEM/ETC
directory to the ZIP disk:
HOSTS
;
NET_CONF
;
READAHEAD
;
SCSI.EXP
;
TVS_CONF
and
TVS_DEF
.
If the ZIP has been used, these files may already be present, so
it may not be necessary to copy the files to the disk.
NOTE
iNFiNiT! Family SYSTEM files must
always be copied to the SYSTEM directory
on another disk. Additionally, MACHINE
files must always be copied to a MACHINE
directory. You cannot copy a MACHINE
file to a MACHINE1 directory. When
setting up the COPY procedure to the ZIP
disk, only B/ must be entered in the TO:
field. The files will be copied to the correct
directory.
To copy these files:
[ ] 1. Once the system has been powered up as described
