Advanced Read FX 15-26 Revision D
If you are using a system equipped with Extended Effects
Frame Buffers (EEFB’s), it is preferable not to use
ESC
to exit the Read Effects main menu. If you happen to
press
ESC again immediately after exiting the menu, the
system can lock up, and you will have to reboot.

All Read Effects features that are available using a Stan-
dard frame buffer system are available on an Extended
Effects Frame Buffer (EEFB) or CLYPS-Capable Frame
Buffer (CCFB) system. These Frame Buffer types will
be referred to as EEFB throughout this text.
The EEFB provides a variety of additional Read Effects
features, such as
Dissolve; the ability to store Text &
Graphics or two layers of text in one frame buffer; and
the ability to independently control Output Percentage
levels of the Foreground and Background buffers.
Read Effects execution (§15.6) using EEFB’s works in
the same manner as with Standard frame buffers, except
where noted. Saving and recalling Read Effects (§15.7)
also works in the same manner as when using Standard
frame buffers.
NOTE
Maxine! systems accept one EEFB;
MAX!> systems accept two EEFB’s;
and iNFiNiT! systems may accept two
or three EEFB’s. Standard frame
buffers and EEFB’s may not be
installed in the same system!
