A tab field must have a Tab Start. If no Tab End is speci-
fied, it defaults to either the next Tab Start on that row or
the right margin of the Safe Title Box.
The
Mark ON/OFF icon selects visible/not visible tab
fields. The setting affects the entire screen. Default is
OFF. While in Tab Setup Mode the tab field outlines are
always
ON; selecting MARK OFF renders the lines invis-
ible when you exit the Tab Setup Mode. Tab settings are
not affected. To activate
MARK ON:
•Press
M or select the Mark icon.
To create a tab field:
[ ] 1. Using the cursor keys, place the cursor on the
first character or row where you want a tab
field. Press
S or select the Tab Start icon. A
rectangular box now defines tab Field

[ ] 2. Using the
Í key, move the cursor to where
you want the tab field to end. If you don't set a
Tab End, either the next Tab Start or the right
margin defines the Tab End.
[ ] 3. Press
E or Select the Tab End icon. A
rectangular outline now defines tab field
0. The
height of the field is that of the currently
selected font.
The maximum number of characters that can be typed in
a row is
63, so up to 63 tab fields can be set in each row.
Simply move the cursor to the right, select
Tab Start,
cursor right, and select
Tab End for as many fields as
desired.
Intelligent Interface Users: Tab fields are used by the
Intelligent Interface system, and are numbered in order of
their creation. Any new tab field receives a number equal
to the current number of fields minus one. For example,
