Configure is used to add, delete, or modify the SCSI ID
and/or "logical unit number" (LUN) settings for storage
devices. Typically, whenever a storage device is added or
exchanged, you'll set jumpers within the device to define
its address. The Configure function then reads and stores
those hardware settings to know where to look for the
drive.
Add is used whenever a new storage device is added to
the system.
Delete is used when a storage device is removed from the
system. Delete can be used even if the device is not con-
nected.
Modify is used when you exchange a drive, or change the
SCSI ID or LUN of a drive (for example, if a higher
capacity internal hard disk is installed).
NOTE
To
Add
or
Modify
a storage device,
the device must be connected,
powered up, and ready. For
removable media drives, place media
in drive first before configuring.
To access Disk Configuration, press I or select Config-
ure
in the Disk Utilities main menu to display the DISK
CONFIGURATION window (Figure 19-27).
To disable the configuration ability of system, delete the
CONFIGURE file from the Programs directory.
