When working with overlapping text or fonts that use a
large amount of memory, typing can be slower due to the
amount of time it takes to build each character on the
screen.
To speed the typing of overlapped characters or rows
while editing, but without affecting the final product,
press
CNTL U (Fast Typing Mode) while in the Mes-
sage Compose main menu.
The
CHAR: field on the menu displays a character with
an asterisk after it (for example,
W*). Only the current
character (the last one typed or the one the cursor is on) is
updated and appears as it should on the screen. Other
characters or rows may appear to be erased or partially
erased. This is only temporary. When the message is
recorded and played back (read), all rows will be intact.
To exit from the Fast Typing Mode:
Press
CNTL U. The entire screen is automatically
redrawn.
To redraw the frame buffer at any time while in Turbo
Typing Mode:
Press the
BUILD key (located between the HOME
key and the
COLOR FONT key).
