The section of background appears below the back-
ground cursor. Relocate the cursor and continue pressing
P
as many times as you want to paste that section. The
cut section remains in a paste buffer until you cut a differ-
ent section, or until you leave the Background mode.
• To erase the entire background, press
HOME ERASE.
• To exit from Background mode, press
CNTL or
select
Quit.

There may be times when you want to do your work
against a background other than black. The default color
of the screen can be changed. This is known as “erasing
the screen to a different color” (Also see §7.2).
[ ] 1. Create a full screen solid (not gradated) color
scanline background.
[ ] 2. Press
E. This signals the system to erase the
screen to a new color.
[ ] 3. Press
CNTL or Q to exit Background mode.
NOTE
The screen color that results is NOT a
scanline background. It becomes the
default screen color. A background
color set in this manner cannot be
recorded or gradated.
