Formatting & Editing 7-20 Revision D
if three fields already exist, the new one will be num-
bered “
3”. Remember that the system counts fields start-
ing from “
0”.
While creating and deleting tab fields, it is possible to
duplicate tab field numbers. If you do not want informa-
tion assigned to a particular tab field to appear in other
tab fields, make sure that they have different numbers.
Use the
O or J functions to renumber the fields.

Each tab field can be assigned unique properties: justifi-
cation; numeric alignment; predefined color and font;
and whether or not the contents automatically erase when
new information is entered. The name and number of the
field can also be changed.
NOTE
When setting Characteristics for a
particular tab field, the cursor must
be positioned in that tab field, and the
settings affect only that tab field.
