The initial setup of SCSI Express involves configuring
the SCSI Express disk unit(s) using Disk Utilities and
setting up a default directory for Message Compose. If
using IMAGESTOR!, a SCSI Express drive can be speci-
fied as a default Still directory in the IMAGESTOR!
Configure menu, however, it is not necessary. SCSI
Express supports up to four disk drives, specified as
Z, Y,
X and W.
NOTE
Before files can be copied to the SCSI
Express drive, the drive must be
formatted using Disk Utilities. A high
level format of a SCSI Express drive,
which performs only what is
necessary to make the SCSI drive
accessible to the iNFiNiT! Family
system, takes about a minute to
complete. A low-level format of a
SCSI Express disk takes over two
hours to complete. This type of
format scans each sector, and
automatically remaps bad sectors.
The Disk Utilities COPY feature
copies only Stills, CMF animations or
JPEG files to a SCSI Express drive.
No other message types are
supported.
