Advanced Playback 9-6 Revision D
A Speed command takes effect when the message speci-
fied in the Roll Control Buffer List that was previous to
the Speed command reaches the Safe Title Box position
(which is normally the position at which it had been
recorded). The next message rolls on screen at the new
speed.
Therefore, a Speed command can be the last command in
a Roll Control Buffer List, causing the final message to
be rolled off screen at a new speed.
To specify a Speed:
[ ] 1. Press
S.
[ ] 2. Enter a speed from
0.0 to 9.9, then press
.
Default speed is
5.
To manually change Roll speed during execution:
• Enter the new speed on the Address Keypad.
When executing a
Special Roll, you can press Î or Ï to
change the speed by 1/10 increments.
Because of technical limitations, it is recommended that
you restrict the range of speeds in a Standard Roll to inte-
gral values
5 through 9, and not to enter fractional
speeds.
Special Roll accommodates speeds from 0.0
through
9.9 as well as fractional speeds.
It is good practice to preview Rolls to see how they look
when executed.

When a Roll is executed, the first message following the
Pause command rolls on screen to the Safe Title Box
position (which is normally the position at which it had
been recorded), then stop for the specified pause dura-
tion. The Roll then resumes.
