The Message Compose READ procedures below all read
the CMF or JPEG into the Foreground buffer of the
Extended Effects Frame Buffer.
A CMF can be read into the Background buffer of an
EEFB. To do this:
Substitute
CNTL ALT READ for READ in each Read
procedure.
When
READ is pressed, the CMF or JPEG instanta-
neously executes. Remember that the SCSI Express drive
path must be set in Message Compose (
SET-UP E) before
these Read operations can be performed using the
SCSI
Express
key. See §23.3.4 for details on Message Com-
pose SCSI Express setup. To read a file stored on a dif-
ferent SCSI Express drive, see below.
To read a CMF or JPEG from within Message Compose
when the SCSI Express directory in which the file is
stored is current:
Press
CLR; enter the ID number; then press READ.
If the file is stored in the SCSI Express directory speci-
fied in SCSI Express Setup:
Press
CLR; enter the ID number; then press READ.
Note that the
SCSI Express key can be pressed any-
where in a Read or Record key sequence. For exam-
ple, the
SCSI Express key can be pressed right
before the ID number is entered, or in the case of a
Background buffer Read command, anywhere in the
middle of the command.
SCSI Express key CNTL
ALT READ
, CNTL SCSI Express key ALT READ
and
CNTL ALT SCSI Express key READ are all
valid commands.
