Revision D 6-9 Message Compose Basics
XY Position: If the Display XY Position: field in Directory Defaults
(§8.2.2.4) is set to
Y for a particular Message Directory,
the X and Y positions of the upper left corner of the cur-
sor are displayed (next to Word Wrap). If
XY Position is
not activated for a directory, there may still be leftover
values displayed in the
X: and Y: fields. However, they
do not change to reflect the cursor position.
Address Displays the message ID number + 1 of the last message
Readout that was read/recorded. This number also appears on the
Keyboard LCD. This allows you to record or read
sequences of messages without having to enter each con-
secutive message ID number.
Prompt Line System prompts, message types, and many error mes-
sages appear on the Prompt Line. Other error messages
appear as “pop-up” windows superimposed over the
menu.

NOTE
KeyPC and MAXINE! do not have an
LCD.
The Keyboard LCD displays current status information
as follows:
•
Current Machine Font that is loaded. The number
of the Font Key in use is displayed.
•
Current Color. This information also appears in the
Color: field in the Status area of the Message Com-
pose main menu.
•
The ID number + 1 of the last message that was
read/recorded.
This information also appears on the
Prompt Line in the Message Compose main menu.
This allows you to record or read sequences of
messages without having to enter each consecu-
tive message ID number.
• Error messages. These are also displayed on the
Prompt Line in the Message Compose main menu.
