A Soft Mask can be created in one buffer. However,
instead of the contents of the second buffer providing the
Soft Mask, black is used. For example, if a two buffer
MAX!> system has one buffer dedicated to the Recall
Keyboard, a Soft Mask can be built in the buffer that is
free. A Soft Mask cannot be built on a MAXINE! system,
as it does not have Mix Effects capability.
[ ] 1. Press
MIX, if not already in the Mix Effects
main menu.
[ ] 2. Select a free buffer. It must be in either
CHANNEL A or B.
[ ] 3. Follow the procedure outlined in Steps 2
through 6 in §16.12.
Soft Mask setup is now complete.

Roll or Crawl messages can be executed in conjunction
with
Key Enable, Bkg Select or Soft Mask. To execute
such a Roll or Crawl:
[ ] 1. Create and record sequence of Roll or Crawl
messages.
[ ] 2. Set up a Roll or Crawl Control Buffer as
described in Section 9.
[ ] 3. Press
