CHYRON Corporation
Installation 2-38 Revision D
The analog-equipped units are factory set to either 525 or 625
line standards. The digital-equipped units can be set via a DIP
switch.
The digital-equipped units utilize a stable VCXO for internal
timing. This requires that a stable reference be used for genlock
(i.e. a VTR used as a reference must have a TBC).

This paragraph describes hookup of the Video Input Module
Option. If you ordered or received the module after you
received your system, installation instructions are in the mod-
ule’s Field Update package.
NOTE
Section 20 of this manual explains the
operation of Video Input Module software.
Section 21 describes the RGB Tools
software, supplied with the Video Input
Module option.
The Video Input Module takes the red, green, and blue compo-
nents of a video source, along with a key signal, and allows you
to capture a full color video image. The recommended hookup
for the iNFiNiT! Family Video Input Module appears in Figure
2-18.
Please note that most facilities have a standard reference signal
(called Black Burst) available to synchronize all video equip-
ment in the facility; a facility hookup utilizing Black Burst
appears in Figure 2-18.
NOTES
All cables between R, G, B, and Key
should be exactly
the same length!
Differences in cable length can cause
problems such as color anomalies, key
timing errors, chroma problems, or video
level problems.
Some sources (like video cameras) do not
provide a KEY output.
