For analog-equipped units configured for PAL (625 line), the
internal sync generator does not include the 25 Hz offset cir-
cuitry; therefore, connection to an external reference is recom-
mended. For digital-equipped units, the COLOR EDIT output
includes the 25 Hz offset circuitry.
For analog-equipped units, the internal sync generator provides
both a line lock to the horizontal sync pulses and a color lock to
the color burst, if present on the REF IN. For digital-equipped
units, the sync generator only provides a line lock since there is
no color burst present on the 601 outputs; the COLOR EDIT
output is factory set to have 0 ScH phase in both genlock and
stand alone modes.
For Digital Input-equipped units, the sync generator can be set
to genlock to the 601 VID IN signal.
The analog-equipped unit must have the external reference con-
nected while the MAXINE! is OFF (or else the system must be
rebooted). The digital-equipped unit does not have this restric-
tion.
