The Video Input Module takes the red, green, and blue
components of a video source (or of a CCIR-601 video
source, if the option is installed), along with a key signal,
and allows you to capture a full color graphic source.
Captured images may be modified using RGB Tools
(Section 21) or Image Tools (Pub. No. 2A01988), and
recorded to disk as RGB messages, Image Tools mes-
sages, Machine Fonts
1
, or Stills.
Flash Save: Flash Save is a feature available on systems
equipped with the Video Input Module and Extended
Effects Frame Buffers. Flash Save enables you to
quickly save 6 NTSC (or 4 PAL) frames into Frame
Buffer memory, and brings up the Flash Browse utility
for viewing. Any frame(s) may then be saved to disk.
Flash Save is described in §20.5.5.
Additional Icons in Message Compose: If the VIM
option has been installed, two additional function icons
appear on the right side in the function icon column in the
Message Compose main menu:
Video Input and RGB
Tools
.
1. See §21.8 - RGB Tools Font Utility, the Image Tools Manual (Pub.
No. 2A01988), or the Logo Compose Manual (Pub. No. 2A01990) for in-
formation about converting RGB(A) images into Machine Font charac-
ters.
