If an attempt is made to overwrite a message of a differ-
ent type, the following appears.

• Press Y to overwrite, or any other key to return to the
main menu.
You would generally use this function immediately fol-
lowing a
READ and edit. ALT RCD is equivalent to
entering the
Last Message Read ID using the Address
Keypad, followed by pressing
DEL MSG, then RCD.
The
ALT key can also be used in conjunction with selec-
tive recording (
CNTL RCD) operations. See §8.5 for this
procedure.

The simplest way to display a recorded message on the
Color Edit Monitor is to use the
READ function. To read
a message:
[ ] 1. If necessary, press
ERASE or ESC to clear the
Color Edit Monitor.
[ ] 2. Press
CLR, then enter the selected message ID
number using the Address Keypad.
[ ] 3. Press
READ.
The message now appears on the Color Edit Monitor.
If
XXXX MESSAGE FILE NOT FOUND, (where XXXX
is the message number) appears on the Prompt Line, it
indicates that an empty address been entered. No mes-
sage exists at that address.
