Advanced Playback 9-64 Revision D
tions of the letters that are below the baseline are drawn
in the frame buffer. They will flash on and off as the page
swaps.
There are two ways to make sure this does not occur:
• When entering the Crawl Execution window to exe-
cute a Serial Crawl, the selected font should be the
largest font that will be crawled. In addition, the
baseline height and the descender height must be
larger than those in any other fonts used in the Serial
Crawl.
Baseline Height can be determined by opening the
Machine Font utility in Advanced Font Create.
• Do test executions. If none of the fonts truncate on
the tallest characters and the characters with the low-
est descenders, then the fonts can be used in that
order in the Crawl.

Excluding special command codes, only characters with
decimal values of
3 to 191 inclusive are valid. All values
outside of this range are ignored. If an entered character
does not exist in the font, it is converted into a space.
• If the character is decimal
207, then it is read as an
ALT character, the same as pressing the ALT key in
Message Compose. The character following the
ALT
character is interpreted as the character in an
ALT-
Char
sequence.
•A decimal
02 character is used to signal the end of
the data transmission. It can also be used to trigger a
Serial Crawl. For more information on using this
command, see §9.5.5 and §9.5.9.
