When Cut executes, the old image instantaneously leaves
the screen as the new image instantaneously appears. Nei-
ther image moves. Transition Patterns,
Ease and Rev are
not available to
Cut.
If
Cut is not available on your system because it has not
been upgraded, a
Cut can be approximated by selecting
Wipe as the Type and entering 2 (fields) in the Len
(Length) field. When executed, the
Wipe occurs so
quickly that it appears almost indistinguishable from a
Cut.
5ROO
As in the Roll described in §9.2, the new image rolls onto
the screen. Transition Patterns and
Rev are not available
to
Roll. Note that if you enter a Roll message ID num-
ber into the Mesg field, the Type field does not auto-
matically switch to Roll. Roll must be selected in the
Type field, or the Roll will not execute properly.
Spe-
cial Roll
can be executed in Multiple Effects if the sys-
tem is equipped with Extended Effects Frame Buffers.
Simultaneous Rolls and Crawls can be executed. See
§17.11 for a tutorial.
Roll of Template Data messages is not supported in
Multiple Effects

As in the Crawl described in §9.4, the new image crawls
onto the screen. Transition Patterns and
Rev are not
available to
Crwl. Note that if you enter a Crawl mes-
sage ID number into the Mesg field, the Type field
does not automatically switch to Crwl. Crwl must be
selected in the Type field, or the Crawl will not exe-
cute properly.
Simultaneous Rolls and Crawls can be
executed. See §17.11 for a tutorial.
