There may be times when you want to do your work
against a background other than black. The default color
of the screen can be changed. This is known as “erasing
the screen to a different color (Also see (§10.5.7).
[ ] 1. Create a full screen solid (not gradated) color
scanline background.
[ ] 2. Press
E. This signals the system to erase the
screen to a new color.
[ ] 3. Press
CNTL or Q to exit Background mode.
NOTE
The screen color that results is NOT a
scanline background. It becomes the
default screen color. A background
color set in this manner cannot be
recorded or gradated.
To change the default screen color
back to clear (black), use one of the
following methods:
Repeat the above procedure, and
erase to a black background.
Press CNTL B; press R or select
Reset; then press CNTL.
After any erase, the cursor returns to the left edge of Row
0 (upper left corner). This is also known as the
HOME
position.

To erase a Transform image from the screen:
Press
CNTL ALT T.
