Bkg Cnvrt Background Conversion. Background conversion runs
independently of Message Compose. Therefore, after
selecting
Bkg Cnvrt, Message Compose can be used
without restriction to run other functions including char-
acter typing and message
READ and RCD.
To execute:
• Press
B or select Bkg Cnvrt.
While Background conversion is active, the word “
Font”
flashes on the top row of the menu screen. The new
Machine Font is available for use in Message Compose
when the flashing prompt is no longer displayed. Auto-
matic font load is disabled when using
Bkg Convrt.
Restrictions:
• Character rotation is supported only during interac-
tive use of Advanced On-Line Font Create. Rotation
values are ignored for Machine Fonts converted in
Advanced On-Line Font Create.
• Shade types or Advanced Effects cannot be applied
to multi-colored characters created in Logo Com-
pose, since shades and multi-colored characters share
the subpalette.
• Converting a font using the default Character Place-
ment Table and Advanced Effects may require an
extended period of time to complete. You can create
a smaller character set by building Character Place-
ment Tables using Advanced Font Create.

If your system is equipped with Advanced Font Create,
an additional icon,
3D, appears in the Advanced Conver-
sion window.
3D allows you to extrude and manipulate
in 3D any Machine Font character that was created in
