Buf indicates the frame buffer that is assigned a particu-
lar effect. If activated when Multiple Effects is executed,
the effect assigned to that buffer is executed. Activating
Mix enables a two buffer Mix Effect to be executed. All
parameters pertaining to a buffers effect are set in the
same row as that buffer designation.
To make a buffer and its assigned effect, or
Mix available
when Multiple Effects is executed, it must be activated.
To activate a buffer or the
Mix field:
Cursor to the desired buffer or
Mix field, then press
or
SPACE BAR to toggle the buffer or Mix field to
highlight it; or click on the field.
To deactivate a frame buffer or
Mix field:
Cursor to the desired buffer or
Mix field, then press
or
SPACE BAR to toggle the buffer or Mix field to
remove the highlight; or click on the field.

Type indicates the Effect Type that is assigned to a par-
ticular buffer.
An Effect Type (§15.2) governs how an old image leaves
the screen and a new image enters the screen. The prop-
erties that are controlled by Effect Types are as follows:
Either image (old and/or new) can move or remain
stationary during the transition with all Effect Types
except
Roll, Crawl, DDR and CMF. In these cases, a
new message does not replace an old message. The
messages themselves contain the movement.
Where applicable, you can select which image will
display on top of the other during the transition (
Hide
and
Revl (Reveal)).
