The Background mode allows you to create horizontal
lines of color, known as a scanline background, using any
of the 16.7 million colors available. Existing text is not
affected when you make a scanline background.
Scanline backgrounds fall into two general categories:
•
Standard Backgrounds. A solid color background.
A standard background can be a full screen of a sin-
gle color. It can also be sharply defined horizontal
blocks of different colors (e.g. one third red, one
third green, and one third blue).
•
Gradated Backgrounds. Changes from one color to
another, from the top of the Edit Monitor to the bot-
tom, with no sharply defined border.
