Font Create Utility is used to convert Master Fonts (sup-
plied with your system) into Machine Fonts, for use in
Message Compose.

Master Font, Font Size, Edge Style, Edge Size, Edge
Direction, Master Font source disk, Machine Font direc-
tory, a Character Placement Table, and other parameters
for each new Machine Font are entered in a conversion
list, then the conversion is executed. For added conve-
nience, up to 98 font conversions may be set up as a
“batch job” to run without operator supervision.
Font Create Utility allows you to select which specific
characters to convert, and to assign alternate characters to
keys by use of a Character Placement Table. For exam-
ple, a logo which has been converted to a Machine Font
character can be placed under the "
A" keycap. Each font
in the conversion list can have its own Character Place-
ment Table.
