Function Keys 12-6 Revision D
include various effects triggers and Function Key execu-
tion parameters. Alphanumeric keystrokes (those found
on a typewriter) entered in the Keystroke column cause
those characters to be typed on screen. Chyron-specific
keystrokes such as
READ; READ NEXT; DEL ROW;
Font and Color Keys; Function Keys that are to be exe-
cuted from within the list; etc. are entered in the Key-
stroke column. Message ID numbers are also entered in
the Keystroke column. However, it is important to
remember that a message ID number must be entered
using the Address Keypad. Otherwise, when the Func-
tion Key is executed, the ID number is typed on screen,
and the message ID number that is displayed in the
Address Readout is read. In the Function Key list, any
number that is entered using the Address Keypad is listed
as
KEYPAD X, where X is the entered number.
NOTE
If entering the SCSI Express key in a
Function Key list, or reading a file
(e.g. Multiple Effects message) which
uses a file stored on a SCSI Express
drive, the SCSI Express drive path
must be set up in Message Compose
(SET-UP E) so that the Function Key
knows where to find the file.
See §8.6
and §23.3.4 for details.
