When XFER or CNTL XFER is executed, the scanline
background (§10.5) that is on AIR is transferred to PRE-
VIEW, regardless of whether that background was built
behind the active buffer or not. For example:
[ ] 1. Assign buffer 1 to CHANNEL A, buffer 2 to
CHANNEL B, and buffer 3 to PREVIEW.
Refer to §16.7 or §17.5 for this procedure if
necessary.
[ ] 2. Enter text into buffer 1; create a red scanline
background while working in buffer 1.
Enter text into buffer 2; create a blue scanline
background while working in buffer 2.
Enter text into buffer 3; create a green scanline
background while working in buffer 3.
[ ] 3. Make the active buffer
1 A AIR. You should
see text from both buffers 1 and 2, and the red
background created while working in buffer 1.
[ ] 4. Press
CNTL XFER. This function swaps the
contents of CHANNEL B with the contents of
PREVIEW.
