Capture mode is used to change the vertical delay com-
pensation between
Video Input and Video Freeze. There
is a delay in processing the VIM input for storage in the
frame buffer. The VIM compensates and aligns the data
with proper horizontal timing, but a one scanline delay
may result from input to output.
If
Normal mode is selected, data is displayed as it is
stored in the frame buffer, with no vertical offset. This is
useful for cases where you can advance the timing of the
VIM input relative to the system reference input, or
where the visual “jump”, when
Video Freeze is acti-
vated, is objectionable.
If
Offset is selected, the active frame buffer “jumps
when the
Video Freeze is activated. This is to compen-
sate for the expected one scanline delay in processing the
VIM input and to align it vertically.
