For example, type the following sentence:
EVERYTHING ON SALE!!!
Position the cursor on “S” in the word
“SALE!!!”. Press
F. “SALE!!!” now starts to
flash. If you would also like the word “ON” to
flash, position the cursor over “O” in the word
“ON”. Press
F. “ON SALE!!!” now flashes.
[ ] 7. To stop flashing, position the cursor at the
original start position, then press
F. You must
repeat this procedure for each flash that you
started.
By experimenting with starting the flash at
different positions, it is possible to alternate
flashing characters with non-flashing
characters in a word. Flashing characters can
be activated while flash is already in operation.
[ ] 8. To record a Flash message, stay in the Flash
Function window and enter a message number
into the Address Keypad. Press
RCD.
NOTE
Remember to record the Flash
message before exiting from the
Flash Function window.
[ ] 9. Press Q or select Quit to return to the Setup
menu. Press
CNTL to return to the Message
Compose main menu.

To read back a Flash message while in the Message Com-
pose main menu:
• Enter the message number into the Address Keypad,
then press
READ. Flashing begins automatically. If
you are using a MAXINE!, you CANNOT read a
