CLYPS: The optional hardware that processes com-
pressed video and/or key signals that make up a JPEG
signal. Necessary for all JPEG operations.
CMF (Chyron Motion File): An animation file com-
prised of Stills. A CMF can occupy an area as large as a
quarter screen.
JPEG Video: A compressed video signal, processed by
CLYPS hardware. A file recorded using this signal
always occupies the full screen.
JPEG Key: A compressed key signal, processed by
CLYPS hardware. When video has a key signal, key is
produced as a separate signal in tandem with the video.
Key contains transparency information.
JPEG Video with Key: A compressed video signal with
its accompanying key signal, processed by CLYPS hard-
ware. A video with key signal can also be composed of a
video signal from one source, and a key signal from
another source.
SCSI Express: A specially designed SCSI drive that
stores Stills, CMFs and JPEG files. The system must be
equipped with SCSI Express Extended Effects Frame
Buffers (EEFBs) in order to access the SCSI Express
drive.
Shaping: When Shaping is activated, the RGB signal is
multiplied by the key signal.
