When a Character Placement Table is displayed, the Key
ID at the top of the list is
65. This Key ID represents
SHIFT + A, which types an upper case A in the Standard
Placement Table. The first Key ID number on the Char-
acter Placement Table is
4, and the last is 191, for a total
of 188.
To move the cursor to a selected Key ID on the Character
Placement Table:
• Cursor to the Key ID; or type the Key ID Number
while the cursor is in the KEY Column, then press
.
The cursor moves directly to that Key ID Number.

A Character ID Number is assigned to each character in a
Master Font set. These Character ID Numbers can be
found on the Font Cards you received with the Master
Fonts disk. Most characters have a three-digit ID; how-
ever, an alternate version of the character may use four
digits. The fourth digit in a four-digit ID number is
placed after the
/ in the CHR. ID field.
In Figure 18-13, the Character ID Number is 0981, and
would be entered in the
CHR. ID field as 098/1. Note that
this is an alternate (slightly shorter) version of the charac-
ter illustrated in Figure 18-5.
