To enter a Character ID in the CHR. ID field for a selected
Key ID:
[ ] 1. Cursor to the
CHR. ID field for that Key ID.
[ ] 2. Enter the three digit Character ID Number
using the Address Keypad.
[ ] 3. If there is a fourth digit in the Character ID
Number:
• After entering the first three digits as just
described, cursor past the slash. Then, enter
the fourth digit Character ID Number using
the Address Keypad.

An accent can be linked with a character so that every
time the character is typed, the accent appears along with
it (e.g. é, ñ, and ö). Most alphabets other than American
English contain accents which can be placed above or
alongside a character. The accents, illustrated on the
Master Font Cards, like characters, have Character ID
numbers. If the first three numbers of the Character ID
number are from
114 to 123 inclusive, or from 190 to
197 inclusive, the system automatically backspaces, and
types an accent over the character whose ID is entered in
the
CHR. ID field for that Key ID.
