If Intelligent Interface is in place, iNFiNiT! sends a
request to the external computer for updated data to fill
the field (sports scores, for example), before it displays
the message.
• Press
X.
X appears after the field number in the Setup window
when External Update is activated.
When a message that contains one of these fields is read,
the system checks to see if there if there is an external
computer input. If there is none,

To display the message, even though no external com-
puter is sensed:

When created, fields have no name; they use system-
assigned numbers starting with
0. You can assign a name
to each field that does not change even if the field is
moved out of order.
[ ] 1. Press
H to display the prompt ENTER NEW
FIELD
NAME.
[ ] 2. Enter any combination of up to 15 letters,
digits or spaces.
[ ] 3. Press

to enter the name.
The new name appears on the Prompt Line at the bottom
of the Prompts Monitor. However, the tab field number
does not change, and appears in the Tab Setup as before.
