To disable Video with Key:
• From within the Read Effects menu, make current the frame buffer
in which Video with Key was activated, then press
ALT V. Disable

is displayed on the Prompt Line.
Note that if Video with Key is disabled from outside the Read
Effects menu, it is necessary to re-enter the Read Effects menu,
then press
ALT V to reset Read Effects.

A Hard Mask is an adjustable rectangular area of the
screen, much like a picture matte. The Output Percent-
age levels of the Foreground and Background can be
independently adjusted inside and outside the Mask.
Once the Foreground and Background Output Percentage
levels are set, the following occurs:
If the Foreground Output Percentage are set to x%, and
the Background Output Percentage level to y%, the Fore-
ground displays outside the mask at x%, and inside the
mask at y%. The Background displays inside the mask at
x%, and outside the mask at y%.
The result is a y% Foreground/x% Background mix dis-
played inside the Hard Mask, and a x% Foreground/y%
Background mix displayed outside the Hard Mask.
When Hard Mask is activated, all buffers are affected.
Experiment with this feature to generate some interesting
effects. To activate and set the Hard Mask:

CNTL H or select Hard Mask. The Mask
Adjust window (Figure 15-13) is displayed.
