TrueType codes can be used to type Bitstream fonts and
vice versa. However, only Bitstream codes that are nor-
mally used to type a Bitstream font can type a TrueType
character. Conversely, TrueType characters that do not
exist cannot be typed using a Bitstream font.
An example of the crossover is as follows:

An example of what cannot be done is as follows:
ALT 0255 a produces ÿ when typed using a TrueType
font, but cannot produce a character when typed
using a Bitstream font, because
ÿ does not exist in a
Bitstream font set. In Bitstream, it is considered a
composite character, and is typed in two steps.
