To switch light sources:
Press
L or select Light.
The light sources are shown as green or yellow pyramids.
They only display their color when highlighted, and are
alterable. Default is first light source (green pyramid).
Rotate UP/DOWN
or LEFT/RIGHT
Changes the position of either light source. Think
of the light source, represented by either a green or
yellow pyramid pointing at the wireframe model,
as orbiting the center of the object.
LEFT/RIGHT
rotation moves the light around the equator, while
UP/DOWN rotate moves it around the poles.
Specular:
Specular
describes the mirror-like reflection of a
surface at or near a viewing point perpendicular to
that surface. This quality can also be considered
the shininess of a surface, like a spotlight effect in
a studio. Enter a value from
1 to 100o increase or
decrease this reflective quality. Values closer to
100 cause a sharp, thin highlight. Values closer to
1 result in a wider, more gradual highlight.
Ambient:
Ambient
describes the surface reflection whose
intensity is independent of both surface location
and orientation. Enter a value from
0 to 100. The
higher the value, the brighter the object. The spec-
ular effect diminishes as the ambient light is
increased. All parts of an object are lit at the min-
imum ambient level, regardless of
Intensity or
Specular values. This effect is similar to a flood
light in a studio setting.
Intensity:
Intensity
controls the darkness/brightness of light
on an object. Enter a value from
0 (unlit) to 100
(brightly lit). To turn a light source off, enter 0 in
both the
Ambient: and Intensity: fields. This
effect is like a dimmer control for the object’s
lighting.
