“Read Next buffer”, and the following batter is in the
dugout waiting to go on deck (i.e. waiting to go into the
Read Next buffer).
Each time a batter finishes a turn, the next one comes up
to bat, and the batter behind him goes on deck. Each time
the Read Next key is pressed, a message is loaded into
the Read Next buffer. The message that was displayed on
the Edit Monitor is replaced by the message that was in
the Read Next buffer.
If the next ID number(s) is empty, the system searches for
the next occupied address. The message at this address is
then loaded into the Read Next buffer. If the search
reaches 9999, the search stops, and
BEYOND 9999 -
MESSAGE FILE NOT FOUND
appears on the Prompt
Line. To abort the search, press any key. The Address
Readout on the Prompts Monitor and the keyboard LCD
reverts to address of the last message read + 1.
To execute the Read Next function:
[ ] 1. Using the Address Keypad, enter the ID
number of the first message that you want to
display.
[ ] 2. Press
READ NEXT. The message whose ID is
displayed on the keyboard LCD is loaded into
the Read Next buffer.
Read Next buffer ready
appears on the Prompt Line. The Address
Readout on the Prompts Monitor and the
address displayed on the LCD advances by 1.
[ ] 3. Press
READ NEXT. The message that was in
the Read Next buffer is displayed on the Edit
Monitor. The system searches for the message
at the next occupied address. The message at
the new address number is read into the Read
Next buffer. The Address Readout on the
Prompts Monitor and the address displayed on
the Keyboard LCD advances to the new
message ID + 1.
