background, and Output Percentage levels are also saved
in each buffer, and are restored when the Text & Graphics
message is read.
When you execute a Text & Graphics Record, the system
records the current frame buffer and the next available
frame buffer, based on the assignments in the Mix Set-
tings window (§16.7 and §17.5).
For example, to perform a Text & Graphics Record in
CHANNELS A and B:
[ ] 1. Read or create (Section 21) a text message in
the buffer that is assigned to CHANNEL A.
[ ] 2. Change the active buffer to the one that is
assigned to CHANNEL B. Read or compose a
text or graphic message in this buffer.
14
Note that you cannot record a full-screen
graphic image in the CHANNEL A (i.e. the
topmost) buffer when you use this function,
unless the graphic has been converted into a
font character.
15
Additionally, any text or
images that are in the buffer assigned to
CHANNEL B are converted into an RGB(A)
image. This image cannot be edited using
Message Compose text editing functions.
[ ] 3. Change the active buffer back to the one that is
assigned to CHANNEL A.
If the active buffer is not changed back to the
one that is assigned to CHANNEL A, the
entire message is not recorded.
14. See §14.1 and §14.8 for information on active buffers; and §16.7 for
information on channel and buffer assignments.
15. See §21.8 - RGB Tools Font Utility (F), the Image Tools Manual
(Pub. No. 2A01988), or the Logo Compose Manual (Pub. No. 2A01990)
for information about converting RGB(A) images into Machine Font char-
acters.
