Revision D 9-13 Advanced Playback
messages is ignored. Note that the scanline background
includes the default clear background that is normally
displayed when you enter Message Compose.
The Roll Control Buffer List can contain Cursor to End
of Text (
CNTL RCD E (§8.5.2) or other Selective Record
messages. The background and palettes to be used
through the entire Roll come from the first Full Page
message (§8.4.2). If no Full Page message exists, the
background and palettes that are current when the
Roll
command is executed are applied to the Roll.
Note that if
Save Palette - CNTL RCD E: is set to Y in
the Directory Defaults (§8.2.2.4) for the current direc-
tory, the palette is applied to the Roll if the message is
listed before the first Full Page message in the Roll Con-
trol Buffer List.
To roll over the current background:
• Rerecord the first message in the Roll Control
Buffer List with that background.
OR...
• Record a Full Page message with that back-
ground, but with no text. Make it the first mes-
sage in the Roll Control Buffer List. You may
want to make the Safe Title Box small in order to
shorten the length of time it takes for the next
message to roll.
Roll operations require specific minimum buffer configu-
rations depending on whether a Standard or Special Roll
is being executed. Additionally, background type affects
these requirements (See §9.3.6 for more information.).
