Advanced Playback 9-66 Revision D
NOTE
Do not send any Crawl data to the
iNFiNiT! Family system until “Loading
crawl buffer” is displayed on the Prompt
Line. Since Serial Crawl shares Port 4
with Intelligent Interface, sending Crawl
data before the system is ready will
cause Intelligent Interface to receive
data with unpredictable results. For the
same reason, when an End of Data
command (02) has been sent, do not
send any additional Crawl data until the
Crawl Execution window is redisplayed,
and “Loading crawl buffer” is displayed
on the Prompt Line.
There is a slight delay between the time the first serial
data is entered into the external source and sent to the
iNFiNiT! Family system, and the time the Crawl appears
on the screen, as the Crawl buffer first fills to capacity
(3072 pixels wide) before displaying the Crawl. For a
100 scanline font, the Crawl buffer holds about 50 char-
acters.
Ready to crawl then appears.
NOTE
Crawl Buffer Underflow may appear in
the Crawl Execution window during
Serial Crawl execution. This indicates
that data flow from the external
computer has stopped or is not fast
enough. This causes Serial Crawl to
pause during execution, until new
data is fed into the Crawl buffer.
When the buffer fills, Serial Crawl
resumes.
